I have an older pony with breathing issues. I started using Heave Ho a few years ago and found it helped my mare so much. During the spring and summer, if her allergies are especially bad, I give her some in the morning and some at night. She doesn't cough but is very reactive to allergens and gets raspy. I soak all her hay all year. My biggest thing with her is to make sure she doesn't overeat on pasture as she blows up and it affects her breathing. I fence off a small area and then increase it by a swath every day to few days. She's doing so much better! Thanks for a great product and quick delivery.
Heave Ho has been the final piece of the puzzle for managing my new gelding. Six months ago, we knowingly purchased a well-bred 4-year-old with a history of respiratory problems, because our barn would be perfect for him. Our stalls are huge with 24/7 access to dry lot turnout, and the barn ventilation is excellent. We have always bought high-quality, forage-tested hay. In the summer we soak the hay, and in the winter we steam it. It was a big risk to buy an expensive horse that had a history of coughing, but my vet was pretty confident that the horse would get past the issue at our barn. Within the first month my gelding's coughing had completely stopped, and his breathing was improving with the addition of another vitamin supplement. But when Spring allergy season arrived, he coughed a couple of times. So, I added Heave Ho to the program, and he hasn't coughed since. Now, my new horse is crazy athletic with tons of energy; his stamina is excellent; he never coughs; and his breathing is a complete non-issue. My horse eats Heave Ho readily, and it smells great. I was nervous about buying this horse, but the gamble paid off. I believe that Heave Ho contributed to my horse's recovery, and I will continue to feed it as a part of his management.
I purchased one container and it has helped with the breathing of our Percheron rescue mare. It has helped some with her cough. So will will need to get another container and see if the cough improves.
It's only been about 2 weeks, so it's hard to say if this will help. I will definitely order again and see if I can notice anything. Weather is cooler now, so that always helps.
Put my older pony on this a couple years ago because he was coughing so much he had lost weight. He was also allergic to the product recommended by my vet. He’s put back on the weight and only coughs occasionally now. Have also put my mini on it since she developed a cough
