There are several problems with Glucosamine shown in studies, such as: •Many studies have found that it can increase Insulin Resistance. Insulin Resistance is the #1 case of laminitis. Many horses are Insulin Resistant or Insulin Resistant and Cushings and should not take Glucosamine.
•A study found it can cause an increase in breathing problems. Horse COPD / Asthma can increase Insulin Resistance. Horses already struggling to breath need to avoid Glucosamine.
•Possible allergic problems using shellfish (crab, shrimp, lobster) that is the source of Glucosamine and the same with Chondroitin, which is sourced from cows / pigs / chickens.
